THE NAGALAND MINISTERS’ SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES (AMENDMENT) ACT 1988.

Act 

Further to amend the Nagaland Minister’ Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964. It is hereby enacted by Nagaland State Legislature in the Thirty 
Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows 

## Section 1. Short title and commencement 
(1) This Act may be called the Nagaland Ministers’ Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1988. 

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from the 1st December, 1987. 

## Section 2. Amendment of Section 3 of the Nagaland Ministers’ Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964. 

The proviso to Sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the Nagaland Ministers’ Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964 shall be substituted by the following, namely 
“Provided that if the Chief Minister, a Minister, Minister of State, Deputy Minister or Parliamentary Secretary does not occupy the free furnished residence provided by the Government, a house rent allowance at the rate given here-in-after in lieu of such residence shall be paid. In such case, rent payable shall be at the applicable rate as laid down by the P.W.D. equivalent to the rental value of the free furnished residence which would have been provided by the Government at the public expense. 

In addition such allowance for service and facilities shall be paid as may be prescribed by rules”.
