An Ordinance further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019.
Whereas the State Legislature is not in session and the Governor is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action;
Now, Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 213 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to promulgate the following Ordinance:—
## Section 1. Short title.—This Ordinance may be called the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2023.
## Section 2. Amendment of Schedule 2 of U.P. Act no. 12 of 2019.—In Schedule-2 of the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Act”) after serial no. 30, the Columns of the said Schedule shall be amended as below and after serial no. 30 for the newly established Universities the following serial numbers shall be inserted, namely:—

## Section 3. Power to remove difficulties.—(1) The State Government may, for the purposes of removing any difficulty in relation to the establishment of Agrawan Heritage University, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, by order published in the Gazette direct that the provisions of the principal Act shall during such period, as may be specified in the order, have effect subject to such adaptations, whether by way of modification, addition or omission, as it may deem necessary or expedient:
Provided that no such order shall be made after two years from the date of commencement of this Ordinance.
(2) Every order made under sub-section (1) shall be laid before both Houses of State Legislature as soon as may be after it is made.
